What it is
Old Madrid, on foot
This is our essential walk, and the one to take if it is your first time in the city. We set off from Puerta del Sol, at Kilometre Zero, and walk through the historic centre and the Habsburg quarter.
Along the way you will see the Plaza Mayor, the Almudena Cathedral and the Royal Palace, among other corners. But what stays with you are the stories: the city told by people who live here and are still discovering it.
We walk through streets full of character, stop along the way and leave room for questions. It is not a list of monuments: it is a walk with a conversation.

Puerta del Sol, doorway nº 6, opposite the ZapShop shoe shop.
Look for the purple umbrella held up high. We set off at 11:15 am, so arrive five or ten minutes early.
Good to know
We need at least two people for the tour to run.
If under-18s are coming with you, there is no need to include them in the booking.
We walk rain or shine. Comfortable shoes are a good idea.
You can cancel at no cost. If you cannot make it, let us know so we can free up the place.
